On mainstream stages in Vancouver, "Do you want what I've got? A Craigslist Cantata" and "Dream Girls" are Arts Club Theatre special features. "Bill Crosby" will be in town, as will "Brent Butt" and "Jay Leno", to name a few. "Les Miserables" will also be touring at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
"Tattoos & Scrimshaw: the Art of the Sailor" exhibit at the Vancouver Maritime Museum has raised a bit of controversy, made national news and even got a feature on the Colbert Report.
On the celebrity concert circuit, "KISS", "New Kids on the Block", "Boyz II Men", "Tony Bennett" and "Celtic Woman" are on the calendar, to name a few. Now is also the time to start planning your trip for Pride and tickets are on sale for "Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake", who will be performing during Pride week.
Of course, there's lots on the calendar in Davie Village and other venues around town, as party animals line up for "Tuesdays @ Celebrities", a new "80's Night" at The Junction, "Cocky Thursdays" at 1181, "Liberace Thursdays" at the fab newly made over Celebrities, Carlotta Gurl's "Absolutly Dragulous" and "Joan @ The Junc" at The Junction, and more.
"Afternoon Tea Dance" by Taffi Louis takes over the Oasis weekly on Sunday afternoon, there's the long running Sunday "Kegger" at the PumpJack and with the warm weather and sunshine, the patios of Davie Village are always packed.
"Project Empty Bowl" is on the calendar, "Friends for Life" is celebrating 20 years with a special event and the "Vancouver Men's Chorus - The 60's Show" series will be at Performanceworks.
