Gay Friendly Canada
2017 is a major milestone year in Canada’s amazing history, as we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Confederation, across the country.
In preparation for this exciting landmark occasion, Gayvan.com Travel Marketing attended a special presentation at the Richmond Olympic Oval, hosted by CBC/Radio-Canada and the 150 Alliance. This informative event gave us a lot of insight into the extraordinary amount of time, effort and resources that are in the works to make this an incredible celebration and legacy for all Canadians, as well as one of the best times ever for LGBTQ+ travellers to visit Canada.
Some of what we learned is that there are many ways to get involved in Canada 150, whether as a project or event volunteer, at a local community event, one of the Canada 150 Signature projects, or with any of the numerous Pride celebrations across the country in 2017. You can also become a member of the 150 Alliance, as an individual, or as an organization.
Parks Canada is also offering a great way to celebrate Canada 150, by providing the 2017 Parks Canada Discover Pass for free. This amazing offer will get you complimentary admission for yourself, and your group, to Canada’s national parks, national historic sites, and marine conservation areas, for the entire year!
Canada continues to be known worldwide as one of the most progressive countries on the planet for LGBTQ+ rights, and this is going to be celebrated in a big way in 2017, as Montreal hosts the first ever Canada Pride, in conjunction with Montreal 375 celebrations, and Canada 150. Plans are to host Canada Pride every four years in a different Canadian destination. Find our more by visiting our Canada Pride page in this edition.
Get out there and join in on the fabulous 2017 celebrations everyone. Happy 150th Anniversary Canada!
