DAY FOUR

Departure day seemed to arrive very quickly, but we still had a few more adventures on the agenda before my flight departure in the late afternoon. Daryl from Doyle House in Kelowna generously drove out on his day off to pick me up and escorted me to yet another incredible Bed and Breakfast in the Kaleden area.

The Deer Path Lookout Bed and Breakfast is a tastefully designed and decorated guest house gracefully situated on a private hilltop, surrounded by nine acres of private forest. John, the proprietor, extended a warm welcome and gave us a full tour of their beautiful home and retreat. Soothing rich colours run throughout this stunning property and only the best in fabrics and amenities are evident. Guestrooms offer the utmost in luxury and privacy and enjoy spectacular views from picture windows or private outdoor decks. An outdoor heated swimming pool and deck are offered during summer months and their Canada Select 4 ½ star rating confirms this unique property as an ideal place to get away from it all.

A short distance from Kaledon is the picturesque area known as Naramata. Proclaimed as one of the prettiest vineyard regions in North America, you can easily spend the day enjoying the breathtaking beauty and stopping to sample the many superb wineries along the way at the same time. We suggest booking a Wine Tour to enjoy it to the fullest.

Our first stop in this area was the Naramata Inn & Spa, where you felt like you just stepped back in time to this beautifully restored 1908 Hotel. We were welcomed by Jeanette the General Manager who took us on a full tour and let us in on some of the history and secrets of this unique property We were also treated to a sumptuous lunch at the Cobblestone Wine Bar & Restaurant and had time allowed could have easily checked in for a few days to fully experience the enchanting ambience of the Inn and book an appointment in their full service onsite Aveda Spa. Delicious food, great wine, luxurious accommodations, a rejuvenating spa treatment…what more could anyone ask for?

We had also hoped to visit the Red Rooster Winery, the Kelowna Land and Orchard Farm Market and the Ramada Lodge in Kelowna this visit, but by last day we were getting short on time and will now have to put them at the top of our list for our next visit. Three and a half days in the wonderful Okanagan Valley was only enough time to experience a small sampling of what this exciting region has to offer. The only regret is that I hadn’t previously taken the time to explore this amazing destination that is just a 4½ Hour drive or a mere 38-minute flight from Vancouver. The old adage “So much to do; so little time” never rang truer.
